4-color
print ad My employer ran multiple insertions of this ad in several different industry publications to roll out its improved curriculum product. It was designed more as an informative tool than a lead or sales generator, though it did result in a number of quality leads and several sales.

print ad
(copy & design) I wrote the copy and designed this ad from scratch. The colorful graphics and catchy headline resulted in improved customer recognition of a re-tooled, web-based science resource. The design originally met with resistance from senior management, since they prefer to project a more traditional, serious profile. I showed them a number of colorful, irreverent ads being run by successful competitors, so I was allowed to get creative and playful with the design and copy.

brochure This is an older piece - about eight years old, to be exact - created for a local computer animation firm. It illustrates a creative use of wide angle photography, computer animation and simple, effective copy that does not detract from the compelling, illustrative photos. Our price: $44.95 |

newsletter (copy & design) This is a fun promotional piece I designed to drum up some local newsletter business. It landed me several local clients, though most were interested in copywriting or design work - not a newsletter. Admittedly not the original intent, but business is business!

newspaper ad I wrote and designed this simple ad within the space of a two hours for a local client. The "Get to the Point" headline ended up being their overriding marketing slogan. |

direct
mail piece My current employer owns their own in-house Print Shop. This piece was created to leverage their equipment and personnel by serving the needs of local clients, not just in-house customers. It has been used with success as both a handout and direct mail piece. The original request called for a two-color design to save costs, but I convinced my in-house customer that it's tough to pitch the technical merit of a print shop staff by distributing a bland, two-color piece.

article
reprint
This is a resprint of an article I wrote for a local nespaper. My employer asked me to dress it up a bit and turn it into a flier, since the article did a good job of describing the company's services, and did so in a manner that looked unbiased given the "facts only" profile of newspaper content.

print ad I originally created this copy for a video script, but it was tweaked for use in a series of print ads in "Naples" magazine. Note the use of the lofty terminology used to connote a sense of exclusivity and class - the primary request of the client, a local plastic surgeon. I don't have the original art for this ad - again, an agency artist designed it - hence the wrinkled look of the scan.

brochure I worked with an in-house graphic artist to create this marketing site for Readex, a product line that is essentially a subsidiary of NewsBank, inc., my current employer. Readex offers some very interesting and unique historical collections, and they wanted to project both an academic and historical feel throughout the site. It has been proven to be a very helpful sales and marketing tool for this __million a year company. |
